December 11 2003

The snow fell outside as The Oregon Poker Tour traveled to Walbridge, Ohio for another night of intense poker action.  Ten players paid the $2.50 buy-in, bringing the winner's pot to $25.  Co-founder Shortridge had been on a roll, but was stopped dead in his tracks as Josh Cowen won the last OPT tournament.  By the luck of the draw, Josh and Luke were seated at separate tables.  Among the players was tournament winner Ray Welch, who, after winning the first tournament, was desperate to climb to the top again.  OPT Officer Jerry Pickering, the host of the event, was ready to take his first official tournament.  Co-founder Dugan came in devastated after his second place finish to Josh in the last tournament, but was ready to get back into the poker action.  With the OPT After-Christmas Poker Classic only two weeks away, who would pick up a win this night?

The Winner (Game #1):

Co-founder Luke Shortridge

After going down in the last OPT tournament he played in, Co-founder Shortridge didn't let that bother him as he found his way back to the top, and won the $25 OPT prize pot.

The first game lasted a few hours, leaving many players tired, and one playing a freeroll tournament on PokerStars.com.  The seven players who were left put another $2.50 down to play yet another game, even though it was reaching three o'clock in the morning.  The players didn't care, as there was $17.50 on the line in this early morning game.

The Winner (Game #2):

Josh Cowen

With Co-founder Shortridge going down mid-way through, Josh quickly took over, repeating his early morning win of last week.  With this win, Cowen climbed into second place on the OPT Leader board.
