January 30 2004 The Oregon Poker Tour's last event for January would be one to remember. Along with the regular players were three new players, and three returning players from 2003 to join the biggest game the OPT has had to date. With fourteen players, second place was looking to take home $9.00 while first place would rake in $25.00. Returning to the game were Brent Pirolli, Dan Staifer, and Randy Tunison. Randy had been playing with the OPT since its conception, and while Staifer had won the first tournament he had ever played in, Pirolli had won the last game he had ever played. But, would a new player with styles no one had seen before take the top prize? |

Luke took the top prize, and took over first place in the OPT money list. While three players had to make their way home, one more player joined the game; Co-founder Tim Dugan. Dugan was looking to retake first place on the money list, but the other players were looking to add their own names to the list. The players agreed to give $5 to second place, therefore the winner was looking at $24 for the top prize. Who would emerge victorious? |

Dugan walked in and took his first victory of the night, reclaiming first place on the OPT money board. With ten players wanting to play one last game; the OPT collected the $2.50 buy-in and started dealing the cards. With so many new players still in the game, the players agreed to give $5 to second place, leaving $19 for first. Could Josh Cowan take his second place finish in the last game to boost himself into first? Or would one of the new players claim their first OPT victory? Both pride and cash were on the line as the cards hit the tables. |

The final OPT event of January ended, and with eleven more months of poker playing to go for the season, there's no telling what will happen in the Oregon Poker Tour. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
